Wavel Pumroy DeMerchant, 89, of Woodstock NB passed away on Saturday, January 06, 2018 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Wavel was born in Bath, NB on August 13, 1928 son of the late Alonzo and Bertha (Lockhart) DeMerchant.

Wavel is survived by his wife; Shirley (Scott) DeMerchant, sons; Scott and Kyle, daughters, Shirley Lynn, Krista (Glen) Avery, grandchildren; David Avery, Amanda Avery, Jeremy DeMerchant, Amy DeMerchant, Justin DeMerchant, Sarah DeMerchant, great grandchildren, Lucas Avery, Eli Avery, Zachery Brennan, Dominic DeMerchant, Desirae DeMerchant, brothers, Austin and Clifford DeMerchant, sisters Rosetta Quinn, Kathleen Folsum, Myrtle Moore, Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Besides his parents; Wavel was predeceased by son; Dwight and daughter in law Mary DeMerchant, brothers, Glenwood, Sheldon, Orville, Eugene  and sister Audrey.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 from 6-8 pm from The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville NB. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm from Carleton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Michael Goodfellow officiating. Interment will be held in the Upper Kent Cemetery at a later date.
