Violet Hazel Fish, 87, of Woodstock, NB, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2008 at her residence. Violet was born in Eel River, NB on February 2, 1921, daughter of the late Eben and Essie (Watson) Varney. Violet is survived by her children; Muriel Craig (Terrance), Kingston, NS, Joan Lockhart (Daniel), Woodstock, NB, Peggy McLaughlin (Robert), North Lake, NB, Laurie Chase (Danny), Woodstock, NB, Randy Fish (Marie), Maple Dale, NB, son in law Roland Nicholson, North Lake, NB, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also a mother to Angela and Frankie and a grandmother to their children. She is survived by her sisters in law Peggy Varney, Jean Varney, Lydia Graham, Nadine Gavel, Kathleen Gaskin, Carlene Wood, Myrna Veysey and Joyce Fish. Violet was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Violet was a hard worker and always willing to lend a hand to her neighbors'. She remained a member of the Green Mountain Baptist Church after she moved to Woodstock area. Besides her parents, Violet was predeceased by her husband John, daughters, Darlene, Donna Nicholson, infant sons, Clayton, Gary, granddaughter, Julie Chase and a great grandson Tyson Greene. Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville, NB on Wednesday, September 10 from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11 from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 3 PM with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating. Interment will be in the Upper Fosterville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Upper Fosterville Cemetery, Extra Mural or memorial of the donor's choice. Service Information
