Victor Stillman
Morrell
April 12, 1937 – June 20, 2025
Victor Morrell (born April 12, 1937), the son of Miles and Ella (nee Plant) Morrell, passed away on June 20, 2025. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Hubert, John, Wendall, Phyllis, Merton, Lorne, Bernam, and former wife Dorothy (nee Rushton) Morrell.
Family was very important to Victor among whom he leaves behind his daughters, Shelley (Stephen) and Robin; grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie), Jordan (Claire), Nicole (Derek), Elizabeth, Rachel, Alexander (Nadia), and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Asher, Romi, Arianna, Silas, Indie, Norah, Layn, Landyn and Everly; sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Victor grew up in Morrell Siding, New Brunswick. As a child, he was drawn to anything that involved horses, whether it was ploughing, hauling pulp, or riding bareback. He also grew to love fiddling and after taking a couple of lessons, he was self-taught for the rest of his life. He enjoyed many years of playing the fiddle and guitar with friends and family alike.
Victor was a hard worker from his youth in working the land in various capacities, during his time on the railroad as a brakeman and driving transport trucks throughout North America. His proudest achievement though was raising his family. He leaves behind a legacy of care and cherished friendships with many who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of a traditional service, an informal visitation for the celebration of his life will be held on June 25, 2025, 2:00 - 3:00 pm at Carleton Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NB. Friends and family are also invited to the graveside at 3:30pm for an internment at Greenbank Cemetery in Wakefield, NB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenbank Cemetery or Canadian Red Cross.
