Verna Erma Wallace, 91, of Woodstock, NB, passed away on February 24, 2009 at the Carleton Manor Nursing Home, Woodstock, NB. Verna was born in Oakland, NB, on September 13, 1917, daughter of the late Edward and Alberta (Brooks) Tompkins. Verna is survived by three daughters; Joan Jones (Brinley), Edmonton, AB, Frances Grzesik, Woodstock, NB, Jane Girdwood (Neil), Woodstock, NB, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, sister, Clara Montgomery, Woodstock, NB, brother, Stanley (Simone), Joggins, NS, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Verna was predeceased by her husband, Ervin, grandson, Paul, great grandson, Matthew, sisters, Marion, Eva and a brother, John. Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville, NB on Wednesday, February 25 from 4 to 8. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 26 from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 3 PM. Interment will be in the Woodstock Rural at a later date.
