With much sadness we announce the death of Vera Mae Acker (née Wright) on Saturday April 11, 2026 at Carleton Manor in Woodstock.

She was born in Hartin Settlement, New Brunswick, on June 25, 1938, the daughter of the late Joel and Pearl (Nicholson) Wright.

Vera is survived by her children: Karen Spragg (Allan) of Keswick Ridge, NB; Deborah Hatfield of Fredericton, NB; and Dale Berry (Judy Drost) of Woodstock, NB. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Derrick McLean, Christopher McLean, Holly Spragg, Rachelle McLean, and Sarah Spragg.

Vera is also survived by her brothers Murle Wright, Richard Wright, and Oras Wright, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her sisters Bertha Wright and Nellie Wright, and by her brothers Rosco Wright, Otis Wright, and Darrel Wright. Vera was also predeceased by her long-time partner, Ronald Todd Berry.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Carleton Manor for their kindness and compassionate care.

Vera will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time, A graveside service will be held at the Marne Cemetery at a later date.
