Thora Marie Porter born September 26th, 1938 (84) of Riceville, New Brunswick passed away at Upper River Valley Hospital on Monday October 24, 2022 with her loving family by her side.

Thora enjoyed walking daily with her dear friend Brenda. She loved her hummingbirds, knitting wool socks and sweaters for the whole family. Her cookie jar was bottomless. Everything was made with love. It was her exceptional kindness, humility, and strength that has kept us all together.

She was a talented musician, learned how to play the organ at a young age and self taught herself to play the fiddle later in life. Tommy and her belonged to a few music groups over the years and enjoyed sharing their talent with the community.

She was chosen to be the Silver Cross Mother by the Woodstock Legion and was humbled and honored to do so.

Thora was the daughter of Herbert and Eva Jensen born in Undine, NB. Her dad passed at the age of 29 and the young family moved to Benton, NB to be closer to family. She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, Larry, Marsten, and Camilla, her sons Dean and Perry and her Grandson, Lee Porter.

Thora is survived by her husband Thomas Porter, her children Heather Clark (Billy),Woodstock, NB; Mack Porter (Janet), Oak Mountain, NB; Danny Porter (Sue), Florida, USA; her daughter in-law Shelley, She is survived by six grandchildren: Nick (Roxane), Jennifer (Jamie), Evan, Caitlin (Jeffrey), Jody (Scott), Erin (Chris), and by six great grandchildren: Patrick, Emma, Maddison, Mallory, Mya, and Brett.

Due to Covid, there will be private service for immediate family on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
