Steven Alan Kavanaugh passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 10, 2026, in Centreville, just days before his 56th birthday, following a bout of pneumonia. Born in Oshawa, Steven returned to his family’s roots near Woodstock several years ago, and since then had enjoyed a quiet life close to family and friends. He was a seasoned handyman of many trades, and spent much of his time tinkering with tools and electronics, enjoying a variety of outdoor sports and activities, and pondering the complexities of time and space.

Steven is predeceased by his parents, Ruth Mabel Shaw and Francis Kavanaugh, and is survived by his older brothers Gary Shaw, Ted Shaw, Terry Shaw, and Frank Kavanaugh, and a large extended family across the province and beyond. 

Steven will be deeply missed by his daughter, Georgia Kavanaugh (Johnathan), who was the light of his life and his proudest achievement. There will be no public service or funeral.
