Stephen Gerard Black, 78, of Simonds, NB, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Bridge Port Cape Breton, NS on December 30, 1933 son of the late Frank and Sarah (Wall) Black.

Stephen is survived by his special friend, Frances McLeod, Simonds, NB, sisters; Kathleen Gagne, USA, Margaret Sloat, USA, Paula Powers, USA, Anne Keizer, USA, Patricia Castaldini, USA, brothers; Joseph Black (Grace), Hoyt, NB, John Black (Bonnie), Oshawa, ON, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his wife Janet, and several siblings.

Stephen served in the Canadian Armed Forces in Germany 1955-1957 and also in various bases in Canada.

By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Sunday, October 14 at 2 PM with Pastor Murray Whitehouse officiating. Interment will be held in the Cloverdale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a River Valley Cancer Support Group or to a memorial of the donor's choice.
