Obituary

It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Scott Braden Ralston of Woodstock, on May 13, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 61.

Scott was born in Woodstock on October 15, 1964, to the late E. Gwen (Henry) Ralston.

Besides his mother, Scott was also predeceased by his brother Shane Ralston.

Scott was a proud Woodstock community leader; he served his community to the fullest of his ability. At a young age, Scott became involved in the Boys Scouts of Canada society and volunteered as a scout leader in his adult years. Scott was also involved with the Saint John Ambulance, first as a cadet and when he became of age later as an ambulance attendant, where he served the community. Scott put many, many hours volunteering with Saint John Ambulance, he dedicated his life to serving the many people of Carleton County. He co-founded Carleton-York EMS with his long time business partner Ellis Hudson in 1996, and operating the ambulance service for over 10 years always with commitment to community.

Scott also served the town of Woodstock as auxiliary town police and as a guard in the town jail.

Scott also dedicated his time to the New Brunswick Snowmobile Trail Association and served in many different roles.

Scott had many friends and a heart of gold, he would help anyone with anything. His laugh was definitely contagious. He was always happy to pull up a chair and play a game (or two) of crib with the camp crew at Slater Road.

Scott will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him, and he will certainly be missed by all of the organizations and clubs that he was a part of.

Keeping with Scott’s wishes, there will not be a public visitation or funeral service.

A graveside service will be held at the Magundy Sandbank Cemetery on June 5th at 1pm.

If so desired, donations in Scott’s memory can be made to St. James United Church or to the donor’s choice.
