Ruth Agnes McAllister

August 22, 1959 – December 17, 2013

At home and surrounded by family, Ruth Agnes McAllister passed away on December 17, 2013. She was 54.

Her vivacious spirit was evident as she tackled cancer head on after being diagnosed in January 2013. She walked and went to the gym often in the past year, proudly sharing her milestones with friends and family. She was brave and smiling until the end.

Ruthie's love for her family knew no bounds. Whether spending quality time with her husband of 37 years, Dana, sharing laughs with her three grown children, or corresponding with her mom and sisters, Ruthie's spunk and joy for life touched everyone around her. As Mimi to her four beautiful grandchildren, she shared her energetic spirit and spoiled them occasionally, too.

A fantastic cook, Ruthie made a living feeding others; she thoroughly enjoyed her work and her co-workers. She was loved for her eclectic sense of style and infectious laugh. She was a caring and thoughtful friend, ideal shopping buddy, and no stranger to a dance floor. Ruthie will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dana McAllister, of Lyman, ME, son Keith McAllister and granddaughter Adrianne of Wells, ME, son Michael McAllister (Ashley) and grandchildren Caitlynn and Michael of Lyman, ME, daughter Nicole Jeffers (Brian) and grandson Declan of Old Orchard Beach, ME, mother Roberta Bolstridge of Lower Knoxford, NB, sister Diana Boyd (Gerard) of Johnville, NB, sister Katie Thompson (Frank) of Oxford, NC, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by father Stanley Bolstridge, mother in law Maye McAllister, father in law Ronald McAllister and brother in law Ronnie McAllister.

Ruth is sending her Radar Love.

The family will hold a private celebration of Ruthie's life at a later date. Donations can be made in her memory to the Cancer Society.
