Ronda Jean
Murray
November 5, 1942 – April 16, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Ronda Jean Murray (Flewelling) of Woodstock, NB announce her passing surrounded by her loved ones, on April 16, 2024, at Upper River Valley Hospital. Ronda was born on Nov 5, 1942, the eldest child of the late George Flewelling and Virginia (Harris) Flewelling in Woodstock, NB
In a world where some people "tinker" and others "do" Ronda was a "doer." Her dictum was do it now and she expected all around her to adhere to this principle. Patience was not her virtue. Ronda was a self-sufficient woman long before it was in vogue. Although not a scholar, when it came to practical skills and common sense she was at the top of her class. In her purse you would always find a measuring tape and a multi -tool pocketknife. Ronda could drive anything from lawn tractors to farm trucks. Those who knew Ronda were aware that she only drove one speed and it was not slow. Ronda could take a yard sale find and turn it into a work of art with a glue gun and a can of spray paint. She was a talented seamstress and painter, often creating many hand painted gifts for her family, especially the grandchildren. Lastly, Ronda knew her words and was not afraid to use them.
Ronda married young and immediately moved to the United States while her husband Joe was serving in the Army. Aside from raising her children, Ronda always worked outside the home. No job was too hard or menial. From waitress to real estate agent, she did it all with a strict work ethic.
In her retirement Ronda wintered in Florida for several years with her gang of lady friends affectionately known as the "Golden Girls". She met Ray there and they enjoyed many years of touring sunny Florida in his Harley motor bike.
Ronda is survived by her partner of 14 years Raymond Pepin and her 5 children: Susan Olmstead, Robert Murray (Debbie), Mary Lou Trail (Stephen) Wendy Parker (Ross) Virginia Murray (Brian) Grandchildren: Stefanie Roden (Brian) and their children Charlie and Baylee; Joseph Parker(Casey) and their children Kio, Peter and Logan; Dustin Trail and his children Bella and Layleh; Devon Parker(Jessica) and their children, Helena and Jack; Taylor McLellan (Josh); Nicholas Ritchie, Thomas Olmstead and Lucas Green
Ronda also leaves her siblings, Robert Flewelling (Alice), Richard Flewelling (Roberta), brother-in-law Maurice Vrieze, Ruth Bryant (Robert), Ronald Flewelling, Robena Clark (Lloyd), Shelley Wheelan (Brian). Several cousins , nieces and nephews. Sisters -in-law Margaret McAuley, Elaine Murray, Shirley Murray, Sylvia Murray and Brother-in-law Donald Murray.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Murray, her son-in-law Richard Olmstead and her sister Rayma Vrieze and infant granddaughter Amanda. Also, Brothers-in-law Owen, Leo, Tommy, and Martin Murray and sister-in-law Jean Murray and Brothers-in- law William Clark and Garth McAuley.
As per Ronda's request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on April 27 @ 1pm at the Calvary Cemetery, with a reception to follow. If desired, donations can be made to the local Cancer Support Group or a donor of your choice.
The family would like to thank the staff of 2 North for their care and kindness. A special thank you to Dr. Anderson and Dr. R A Goodine for supporting and guiding our Mother on her final journey. Last but not least, Ray for being part of Mum's life in her later years and keeping her out of trouble 😊
