Ronald Lloyd Schriver

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ronald “Ron” Lloyd Schriver who passed away September 18, 2026, at the Riverview View Manor at the age pf 79.

Ron was born on January 9, 1947, in Woodstock, NB, the son of the late Catherine (Darroch) and Tracy Schriver. He was the youngest of ten children and was raised on the family farm in Wakefield. He was predeceased by his brothers Daniel, Junior, Owen, Carle, Winston, Eldon, sisters Mary, Carolyn and Elizabeth, son Kenneth, Grandson Kyle Schriver.

As a young man, Ron worked on the farm and later worked at Thomas equipment. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, determination, and ability to build something from the grounds up.

Ron’s greatest accomplishment, however, was the family he built with the love of his life Charlene (McInnis). The two met in Bath, NB and were married on April 1, 1967. Together they shared nearly sixty decades of marriage, raising the family and creating a life filled with hard work, laughter, adventure and love.

Ron and Charlene were blessed with their children: Alecta (David), Denise (Allen), and Stephanie (Sherman). The family continued to grow with 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren who all held a very special place in Ron’s heart.

Ron and Charlene worked hard together to build a successful company R. L. Schriver Ltd. Ron had a talent for building and creating. He built a pulling tractor “Father’s Toy” and cabin from trees he selected and cut himself, in the later years that cabin turned into their home the “Corn Binder Corral”.

Ron’s love of the outdoors was evident in everything he did. He enjoyed working with wood, passionate for his Christmas tree plantations, his love for his vegetable garden, collecting and restoring antique cars and tractors. He especially enjoyed travelling south for the winter with Charlene and making memories along the way.

Ron will be remembered for his hard-working nature, his creativity and his love of the land. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and chosen family, neighbours and extended family.

Though he will be deeply missed Ron’s legacy lives on the family and friends he loved so dearly, the things he built with his own hands and the many lives he touched along the way.

Rest peacefully Ron. Your hard work here is done but the love and memories you created will live on forever.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 22, 2026, at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville from 5 to 8 PM.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday September 23, 2026, at 1PM from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel, interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.

The family have requested donations to Riverview Manor in memory of Ronnie.
