It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Harvey Currie, 89 of Woodstock, NB at the Carleton Manor on June 17, 2021. Ron was born February 10, 1932, the youngest of 11 children of the late John and Laura (Purinton) Currie.

Survived by his wife of 64 years, Arletta (Cheney), two sons, Larry (Susan) Currie and Dale (Natalie) Currie, Five grandchildren, Beth (Jon) Pond, Michael (Danielle) Currie, Matthew (Ashley) Currie, Chelsea Currie –Stokes (Nathan) and Logan (Gina) Currie. Along with his great grandchildren, Harrison, Charlotte, Connor, Olivia, Emery, Bowen, Jasper, Oliver and Avery.

Ron is also survived by two sisters, Nan Miller and Doris Harbison both of Houlton Maine, Sister in Law, Hattie Cheney of Woodstock NB, also several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins throughout Canada and United States.

Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by a granddaughter Haley Marie, brothers, Burns (Nina) Currie, Roy (Gwen) Currie, Louis (Wynn) Currie, Eddie (Joyce)Currie , Junior (Marjorie), sisters Nellie (Leonard) Wilson, Marg (Earl) Phybus, Jean Cook and brother in law Lawrence Cheney.

Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville NB on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM. Interment will be held Woodstock Rural Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the MacKenzie Corner United Church, Debec Trinity United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
