It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Roy Atherton, loving and devoted husband of 40 years to Sandy Atherton which occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital on August 26, 2023. Born 1952 in Woodstock, New Brunswick he was a son of the late Ronald G. and Doris (Faulkner) Atherton.

A carpenter by trade, Ron was also very talented when it came to painting. This passion came naturally to him, especially later in life while living at the Victoria Glenn Manor. An avid outdoorsman, Ron enjoyed the days which were spent hunting, fishing, camping, and 4-wheeling. Above all, he was a family man who was always the life of the party.

Along with his wife Sandy, Ron is survived by his children; Jennifer Lynn Atherton, Kyle Atherton (Tarynn Gray) and Laurel Jones (Jimmy). He is also survived by his brother Terry Atherton along with his 4 grandchildren: Rylee, McKenna , Connor, Wyatt , and great grandchild McKenzie, Nephews Benji and Jordan ( Nicole) Athertons.

In addition to his parents, Ron is predeceased by his infant sister Debbie Atherton, paternal grandparents; Donald and Tilley Atherton and maternal grandparents; Margaret and Roy Faulkner.

Arrangements entrusted to Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Road (506)-328-8430. In keeping with Ron's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no formal visitation or funeral service.
