It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rika Johanna Tenhave announces her passing on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Riverside Court Retirement Residence, Woodstock NB. Rika was born on December 20, 1925 in Wisch Netherlands loving wife of the late John B. Tenhave. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Rika is survived by three sons, Harry (Sharon), Avondale, Frank (Iris), Hanwell, John (Elizabeth), Calgary, five daughters, Elizabeth McBride (Wayne), Quispamsis, Olga Phillips (Late Gary), Calgary, Mary Feero (Peter), Douglas, Katherine Russell (Tony), Quispamsis, Emily Tenhave (Mark Layton), New Germany, NS, twelve grandchildren, Shawn, Kim, Tracey, Tricia, Rachel, Ali, Mark, Stephanie, Lauren, Will, Daniel, Julie, eight great grandchildren, Anna, Matthew, Claire, Scarlett, Jack, Max, Isaac, Elliot, many nieces, nephews.

Rika and John immigrated to Canada in 1950 and settled in Elwood NB where they farmed until 1974 when they built a home on Bull Road Bedell NB where Rika resided until 2009 when she moved to Riverside Court Retirement Residence. She was a long time member of the CWL. Rika spent many hours knitting, crocheting, sewing and fixing everything she could. Her greatest passion was cooking and sharing large meals with family and friends.

The Tenhave family wishes to thank the staff of Riverside Court Retirement Residence for the kindness, compassion and care they gave her every day and the Extra Mural Nurses and Dr. Perley for their excellent care.

Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4 PM to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 12 noon from St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church with Fr. John Beaumaster. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
