Richard Alfred Wright

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Alfred Wright of Bellville NB Thursday August 13, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 79.

Richard was born on June 28, 1947, in Hartin Settlement to the late Joel and Pearl (Nicholson) Wright.

Survived by his daughter, Lisa (Jeremy) Smith, son, Stephen (Janet) Wright, grandchildren, Oliver and Andie Smith, Clay Wright (Tina Johnson), brother Oras Wright (Bev Gullison), Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his wife Ola(Gullison) in 2022, sisters, Bertha Wright, Nelle Wright, Vera Acker, brothers, Merle Wright, Otis Wright, Rosco Wright and Darrell Wright.

Known to his family as BUMPY, Richard was an automotive mechanic for many years; he loved to tinker at anything that required a mechanical touch. He also loved his music and loved to play the banjo. He also loved to hunt and was able to go moose hunting with Stephen and Janet in 2025 and watched Janet take down a big bull moose, which made Richard’s day. But most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 17, 2026, at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB from 1 to 2 PM, followed directly by the funeral service in the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 2PM.

Interment will be in the Bedell Cemetery.
