Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard E. Stanley (Dick) - Age 74 of Newburg, NB.

Richard is survived by his wife Henni, one daughter, Lorena (Dan) Welsh of Oshawa, three sons, Karl (Arlene) of Oshawa, Rick (Brenda) of Oshawa and Troy of Oshawa, ON, grandchildren: Kailey, Nicholas, Kyle, Madison, Santana, and Pagan; brother Gerald (Dee) Stanley, Newburg, NB,  sister Joyce (Dale) Kennedy, Oshawa, ON,  sister-in-law Jewel Stanley, Woodstock, NB, step-brothers, David, Dwayne and Gerry James  and several nieces and nephews.  Richard is predeceased by mother and step-father, Myrtle and Percy James and brother, Frederick (Fred).

Born and raised in Bloomfield, NB, developed Richard's appreciation of Carleton County's natural habitat.  After raising his family and completing his career in Oshawa, ON, Richard returned to NB and shared his passion and knowledge of the outdoor habitat with the love of his life, Henni.  They travelled by land (motorbike, car or ATV) all throughout the US and Canada, and walked for miles throughout the wilderness, and every path led him back to his beloved Carleton County.

Humble, yet wise, those close to Richard often sought his advice.  His interests and knowledge in everything from carpentry to cooking awarded him the respect of his family and friends.  Richard was always the first to lend a capable helping hand … a common phrase, coined by his dear niece, Jenna was 'When all else fails, ask Uncle Dick!'

Public visitation will take place between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 pm on Friday, September 6, 2019 from The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Carleton County Animal Shelter would be most appreciated.
