It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Richard Cecil Kearney, affectionately known as Rick or Ricky to family and friends, and Ricko to his work friends, of Woodstock, New Brunswick, on October 31, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born and raised in Woodstock, Rick was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent much of his life working as a garbage collector and delivering groceries throughout the community. Through his work and his outgoing nature, he became a familiar face to many. Rick could strike up a conversation with just about anyone, and it was rare for him to go anywhere without stopping to chat with someone he knew or making a new friend along the way.

Above all, Rick was a devoted family man. He was head over heels in love with his wife, Donna, and never missed an opportunity to let her, or anyone else, know it. He affectionately called her "Gorgeous" and proudly told anyone who would listen that she was the most gorgeous woman in the world. His love and admiration for her were unwavering and evident to everyone who knew them. As a husband, father and grandfather, he was always someone his family could depend on. Whether it was lending a helping hand, sharing a laugh or simply being there when needed, Rick gave generously of his time and himself.

Known for his wonderful sense of humour, Rick loved to tease, joke around and bring a smile to the faces of those around him. He had a special talent and passion for woodworking, taking great pride in creating handmade treasures for the people he loved. Among his most cherished creations was a beautiful rocking horse he made for his daughter, a keepsake that remains treasured to this day. He also lovingly crafted countless wooden toy trucks for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. These handmade gifts will remain lasting reminders of his creativity, thoughtfulness and love.

Rick was an avid baseball fan and a loyal supporter of the Toronto Blue Jays. He especially enjoyed watching Blue Jays games with his mother and brothers, sharing in the excitement of every game and the time spent together. He also enjoyed taking walks with his brothers and spending time with family, finding happiness in life's simple pleasures and the company of those he loved.

Rick will be forever loved and remembered by his beloved wife, Donna Kearney; his children, Jeff Kearney (Megan) and Krystle White (Colby); and his four grandchildren, Sierra Palmer (Hunter), Khloe Hubbard-Kearney, Lucas Hubbard-Kearney and Keira White.

He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Winnie Kearney; his mother-in-law, Leona Dickinson; his brothers, Ron Kearney (Lu) and Gary Kearney (Debbie); his sister, Lynn Kearney (Mike); and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Janet Kaye (Dana), Sandra Davenport (Marshall), Annie Dickinson, Tim Dickinson (Wanda), Mark Dickinson (Cindy) and Karen Bamford (Jeff), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Rick was predeceased by his father, Clifford Kearney; his father-in-law, Jerry Dickinson; and his brother-in-law, Brian Dickinson.

Rick will be remembered not only for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others, but also for the laughter he shared, the friendships he made and the unconditional love he had for his family. His quick wit, generous heart and familiar smile will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Though he may no longer be here to share a joke, lend a helping hand, create something special with his own two hands or cheer on his beloved Blue Jays, the memories he made and the love he gave will remain with his family forever.
