Richard
Archer
September 6, 1947 – September 15, 2018
Louis Joseph Edward Richard Archer, 71, of Fredericton passed peacefully away on September 15, 2018 with his family and close friends by his side.
He was born on September 6, 1947 in Sorrel, Quebec to Edouard and Jeannine Archer. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Susan, sons Michael (Sarah) and Andrew, step children Matthew (Christin), Luke (Jenny), and Carissa (Brent), grandchildren Baillie, Steven, Daniel, Byron, Colton, Liam, Amelia, Kief and Cassidy, two brothers Denis (Carla) and Michel (Viola), nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Diane and his parents.
Richard lived enough for two lives in one; travelling to several countries by varied and alternate modes of travel, foot, motorbike, boat and plane, which gave him lots of adventures and hand-waving stories to tell about each place.
Richard was known for his love of music, whether playing guitar, fiddle, banjo, dulcimer or vinyl LP's. He could often be found jamming with his friends around the campfire.
He was an avid athlete with teaching and coaching certifications in skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking. His other sports, windsurfing, kayaking, kiteboarding, skate skiing and rock and ice climbing, he did just for fun.
In the last few years he spent many hours enjoying his latest passion, sailing on his boat, Osprey.
Richard left this world the same way he lived his whole life, on his own terms.
By request, there will be no visitation and a private family celebration of life will follow.
