It is with broken hearts, and yet with great joy of our Heavenly hope, that we announce the death of Peter Thomas McCarthy of Jacksonville on Wednesday March 5, 2025, at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 86.

Peter was born in Toronto ON, February 7, 1939, to the late Frederick and Elsie (Ball) McCarthy.

Peter is survived by his wife Wanda McCarthy, sons, Kevin (Tracey) McCarthy, Darren (Sherrill) McCarthy, brother-in-law Murray (Lois) Whitehouse, many Nieces and Nephews.

Besides his parents, Peter was also predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Edythe and Doug Fox, and Brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Maxine McCarthy.

Peter moved to New Brunswick at 17, where he met and married Wanda and raised two sons. Peter started his employment with NCR cash register before going on to own Singer Sewing Center and Goliger's Travel. He was also Mr. Fix it, self-teaching himself to make small repairs on anything. Finding a problem and fixing it brought him great satisfaction. He also loved to travel with Wanda to many places around the world.

But his greatest fulfillment was his relationship with Jesus and his time spent with family.

Visitation will be held at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Sunday from 1 to 3 PM.

Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM in the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel, with interment held at a later date.

If so desired, donations in Peter's memory can be made to Evangel Assembly or to a charity of the donor's choice.
