Obituary

Peter Charles MacDonald Hall, 68, of Lower Woodstock NB, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 11, 2018 at his home.

Peter was born on April 25th, 1949 in Woodstock, the oldest son of Malcolm and Elizabeth Hall.  Peter and his wife Ruth Ann (Slipp) of 49 years have 2 children, Annjenette (Kevin Potter) residing in Burlington, ON and Steven (Nancy) who reside in Lower Woodstock.

Peter was well known for his knowledge in the hardwood lumber industry.  After High School graduation in 1967, Peter began his career in the Hardwood Lumber Industry.  He received formal training as a Hardwood Lumber Inspector from the NHLA Inspection School in Memphis Tennessee in 1968.  Since that time Peter spent his working years in various capacities, making many friends and colleagues locally and internationally.

Peter's life was based on his deep-rooted faith.  Church involvement was very important and he loved singing in the choir.  He served on the church vestry and various other committees for many years.

He was an avid Sailor and was the Commodore of the Woodstock Valley Yacht Club.  He received a full Certificate from the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron, covering all aspects of Recreational Boating Safety and Navigational procedures. Peter's love of nature and the environment also drew him to active membership with the Meduxnekeag River Association of which he was an active board member until his passing.

Peter is survived by his wife Ruth, his two children, Angie (Kevin) and Steven (Nancy),  five grandchildren, Grace, Nathan, Thomas, Emma and Jessie, his sisters Philippa, Sharon and Suzanne, brother Geoffrey, sister in law, Joan Hall Woodstock, (late James Hall)and their children son Robbie (daughter Harper), Woodstock and daughter Ashlee (son Max.),California,  Aunt Louise McMullin of Topsam, ME, Aunt Eve Wetmore of Murray, Kentucky, and Aunt Adaline Wetmore of Homossa Springs, Florida,  several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Malcolm and Elizabeth, and his brother James.

Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville, NB with on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 3-7 pm.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 2 pm from St. Luke's Anglican Church with Reverend Shirley Noseworthy officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hall Music Bursary Fund, Meduxnekeag River Association, River Valley Cancer Support Group, or a charity of choice.
