Oliver
Pinter
October 15, 1939 – May 12, 2026
Oliver Pinter was born in Schenectady, NY on October 15, 1939, where he was raised along with his three sisters. At the age of 17 after high school, he joined the US Navy while the draft was mandatory so that he could choose his area of service. Traveling home to NY while on leave, he met mom’s brother in a small sandwich shop in Delaware. He became friends with Mom’s brother, David, who eventually took Dad to his house where from that moment our mom, Grace, knew that this was the man she would marry.
Dad has had many adventures in his life from mission work in Bolivia to mission work with Mom later in the Philippines, to raising 5 children, to moving countries and supporting a family while working as a maintenance personnel and licensed refrigeration mechanic for Jolly Farmer most of his life.
The outstanding quality we remember about Dad is his love for Jesus, his love for Mom and his children as well as a lover of the people that were around him and those he came into contact with everywhere.
He passed away peacefully at his home in Northampton, NB Canada on May 12, 2026.
He is survived by his wife Grace Pinter and 4 of his 5 children: Joseph (Ann), Irene (Shaun), Elisabeth (Samuel), SueEllen (Jonathan):18 grandchildren,1 great grandchild and nephews and nieces.
Dad has joined our sister Ruthie (Chris) in Heaven where “In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2
