Obituary

In loving memory of our mom, Myrna Ferne (Miller) Tompkins, who passed away peacefully at Ruth Anna's Special Care Home in Hartland, NB on June 2, 2025. She was born on October 10, 1936, to the late Wilmot & Mae (Whitney) Miller.

She was predeceased by her husband Basil Arnold Tompkins, as well as her sisters: Margaret, Ola & Dale; brothers in-law: Ross, Clayton, Fred & Maurice; sisters in-law: Eva & Shirley.

She leaves behind 4 children: Janette (Dean) Dickinson, Nancy (Joseph) Black, Lynda Brewer, and Stephen (Debbie) Tompkins, as well as 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great great- grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters, Jean & Dorothy, and 2 brothers, Ross & Ebbie.

Mom spent many years working at McCain Foods. She was also a very talented seamstress and an excellent cook. The highlight of our summers was spending a couple of weeks at Bannon Children's Camp where Mom skillfully fed hundreds of people each summer as the "Camp Cook" – a job that she loved. She was hospitable and could throw on a delicious meal at a moment's notice.

She was a great lady who encouraged us all in our walk with the Lord and showed love, kindness and generosity to those who knew her.

We want to thank the staff at Ruth Anna's for all the care and especially the hugs that Mom enjoyed so much. They made her day.
