Obituary

Mina H. Allen devoted wife of 57 years to Stanley L. Allen passed away quietly this April 17, 2016 at the Upper River Valley Hospital Waterville NB. Mina was born in Strone Scotland on August 5, 1921.

Mina is survived by her daughter, Patricia Robinson (Lloyd), son, Derry Allen (Patricia), grandchildren, Kristyn Allen, Andrew Allen, step grandchildren, Maryanne Doherty (Danny), Trudy LeBlanc (Roger), nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mina was predeceased by her parents, Hector and Anne-Jane (Crooks) Wilkie, husband, Stanley Allen (2004), various aunts and uncles.

She and her dear husband immigrated to Canada arriving in Quebec on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1954. Mina and Stan had a wonderful 57 years together, raising two children in the country of their choice.

She was a woman of many stories of her home in Scotland and her experience during World War II and then her life in this country. Her many creative gifts included being an avid knitter, Gardner, animal lover (especially cats) and letter writer were passed on to her family and will remain as a source of continued inspiration. She will be missed by her family but we know she is now where she wants to be with her dear departed husband Stan.

Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 5 PM to 8 PM. Funeral service for Mina will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2 PM from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirk Cemetery Northampton.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kirk Cemetery Fund or to a memorial of the donor's choice.
