Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael Norman Smith, age 61 of Woodstock NB on Tuesday February 18, 2025, at the Upper River Valley Hospital, in Waterville.

Michael was born on October 28, 1963, to the late Bertram (Budd) Smith and Grace (Rankin) Besides his parents he was predeceased by a great niece Victoria and a nephew, Andrew. Michael is survived by his loving wife Wendy (Brooks) of 31 years and his loyal cat Frankie. Sister Linda Comeau (Vic) Brother-in-laws, Bill McHatten (Shelley), Bob McHatten (Cindy) and Sister-in-law Shawna Jacques (Gary). Nephews, Tyler McHatten (Gina), Tyson McHatten (Malori). Nieces, Tracie, Kim (Dan), Katherine, Melissa, Rachel (Brendan), Alissa (Kevin), Kristin (Graham) and Austin. Great nieces, Elizabeth (Hazen), Tiffany, Julia, Sally, Madalyn, Charleigh, Mikenna, Annie and Andi. Great nephews, Tylor, Turner, Drew, Jacob, Parker, Nash and Jaxon. Great great nieces, Kayleigh, Addison, Gabriella, Rachel.

Michael started his career straight out of high school at Canada Bread and worked there until he retired. He was a proud member of the Woodstock Elks Club and Chairman of the Board of Managers at St Paul's Presbyterian Church. He spent time as a volunteer firefighter and was a sought after DJ. In his early years Mike could always be seen dancing at JRs or going with a car load of girls. In recent years you could always see him playing games on his phone and drinking a Timmies Coffee.

A sincere thank you to all the Doctors and nurses at The Upper River Valley Hospital. Especially on 2N for the care and compassion they showed to Michael and his family. (Where Mike spent his last year).

Visitation will be held on Friday February 21, 2025, from Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville from 4pm-8pm

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025, from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm. Reception of food and fellowship at the Woodstock Elks Club.

Interment will be held at the Woodstock Rural Cemetery in the Spring.

If so desired, donations can be made to St, Paul's Presbyterian Church Pantry & Carleton Animal Shelter.
