While in Toronto Mike began his truck driving career with Richards and he continued to drive truck for the majority of his life. He was affectionately known as Playful Pup on the CB radio. He enjoyed the CB so much that it started a lifelong hobby and led to the creation of the CB club Canadian Air Transmitters (CAT Club). Mike also had a deep love for hockey and the Toronto Maple Leafs, which lead to coaching multiple teams including his own son which he took great pride in. He was also an avid bowler and bowled on the weekly teams. Mike had the great joy of welcoming multiple grandchildren and eventually great grandchildren to the family making the dinner tables fuller along with his heart.
