With much sadness and broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Michael (Mike) Cedric Kavanaugh of Grafton NB on Sunday December 28, 2025, age 71.

Mike proudly served in the Canadian Militia for 12 years before beginning a long and dedicated career with Karnes Bread, where he worked for 25 years and was fondly known as the "Bread Man." After retiring from Canada Bread, Mike pursued a lifelong dream by attending flight school, successfully earning his commercial pilot's license.

Although he achieved this goal, Mike chose family first and could not bear the thought of leaving his young daughter. He instead found great joy working as a bartender, a role perfectly suited to his warm and social nature. Mike loved conversation and connection, and he cherished the time spent talking with both new acquaintances and longtime friends.

Mike was predeceased by his parents, Cedric and Margaret (Fredericks) Kavanaugh and brother Mark Kavanaugh.

Mike is survived by his partner of 32 years, Angela Dickison, and their daughter Sydney of Grafton. He is also survived by his sisters Joan (Ron) Tremblay of Fredericton, Tina (Kevin) Madore of Fredericton, and Shawna (Alan) Green of Centerville, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mike will be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and love of people. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 2, 2025, from Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road from 12 to1:45 PM.

Legion Tribute will be held at 1:45 and Funeral Service will be held at 2PM in the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be held at a later date.

Reception to follow service at the Woodstock Legion.
