Melanie Leah Rideout

It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Melanie Leah Rideout of Gordonsville NB on Friday October 2026 at the Upper River Valley Hospital after her battle with cancer.

Melanie was born on January 24, 1960, in Bath NB to the late Edison and Bonita (Shaw) Rideout.

She is survived by her partner James Holmes, son Chad (Jamie) Lloyd, sister, Karen Shaw-Davenport, brothers, Allen (Gina) Shaw and Blake Shaw, and many friends.

Melanie was a lover of a good book, Willie Nelson, cards with friends (who she would call names if she lost), a bottle of wine, a few drinks with the girls which would include a shot of fire ball or something along that line.

She was happy she had James and Chad in her life along with her fur babies and her many friends. She always had a smile on her face. She will be missed.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at 2East of Upper River Valley Hospital and also to her best friends, Terrie Kinney, Mabel Glass and Sheila Kelly for spending time with her and helping James out the last few weeks.

Keeping with Melanie's’ wishes, no public visitation or funeral service will be held.
