It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Marina Anne Sears (Stairs) of Hay Settlement, NB on Wednesday July 24, 2024, at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 82.

Marina was born in Woodstock, NB on March 5, 1942, to the late Darrell and Ilene (Franklin) Stairs.

Marina enjoyed talking with family and friends on the phone, she loved to read books and work on word search puzzles and always took time to feed the birds.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Sears in 2018 and her brother Edward Stairs in 2023.

Marina is survived by her children, Barbara (Brian) MacMillan, Douglas (Janice) Sears, grandchildren, Carson Porter, Stephanie (Daniel) Nason, Tyson Sears, great grand children, Savannah, Dakota and Austin Nason and Elijah Soucy, as well as several extended family members.

There will not be a public visitation. A graveside service will be held at the Upper Meductic Cemetery on July 31, 2024, at 1 PM.

If so desired, the family has asked that donations be made to the Upper Meductic Cemetery in memory of Marina.
