Margaret Grace
Pinter
September 19, 1943 – May 28, 2026
Margaret “Grace” Pinter was born in Dover, DE on September 19, 1943, and was raised with her brother and sister in Wilmington, DE. She first met our dad, Oliver Pinter, at the age of 16 through her brother’s “chance meeting” with Dad in a small sandwich shop while traveling through on military leave. Not only did this meeting turn into a lifelong friendship with Mom’s brother, David, but David, in turn introduced Dad to our mom, who became the love of her life. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” Psalm 37:23
Mom’s life alongside Dad was full of adventures. These included missionary work mothering a household of girls at an orphanage in the Philippines in later life, helping in a high production environment producing pies, working in a commercial kitchen and assisting in the accounting office at Jolly Farmer, but she always considered raising a family to be the most favourite thing she ever had done.
Mom was a quiet but strong person; her outstanding qualities being a warrior princess, an excellent judge of character; “knowing” us children with one look into our eyes. She left a legacy filled with kindness.
Mom was involved in a workplace accident with her primary hand in her young 30’s and could have been on disability for the rest of her life. She decided that she was not going to be an invalid and trained herself to work and write with both hands and even continuing to play the piano.
Mom loved beautiful mountains having been raised in a flat state. She loved flowers, growing the most beautiful flower and vegetable gardens as well as fruit trees. She loved music and singing, gathering us children around the piano or organ to have family sings or to play music and lead family dances when we were teenagers. Mom was such a humble person and never held herself in high regard and yet was so easy to make happy.
Mom passed away peacefully in the Fredericton Hospital on May 28, 2026, surrounded by family - just 16 days after Dad passed into glory.
She is survived by 4 of her 5 children, Joseph (Ann), Irene (Shaun), Elisabeth (Samuel) and SueEllen (Jonathan) and has joined our dad and sister Ruthie (Chris) where ““In my father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2”
