Obituary

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Joyce Olmstead (Howard) on December 3, 2022, at the Upper River Valley Hospital. But it is also with great joy that we celebrate a life well lived, full of kindness and empathy for all.

Born on February 14, 1931, she lived ninety-one years which she filled with children, her own, Roger's and any others who needed hugs and understanding; including dozens who were lucky enough to be in her day care. She was a "kid whisperer" without equal. A special mention to Destiny Joy Andersen RIP.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Philip and Hope Howard (Wolverton) and two brothers, Harry Howard and Leigh Howard, as well as Leigh's beloved wife, Sheila. She also lost a son-in-law Michael Pineo and brother-in-law Richard Olmstead; both to brain cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 44 precious years, Roger Olmstead. She will be forever remembered by her 7 children: Julia Davidson (Jay Lippman), Philip Davidson (Sophie), Susan Pineo, Catharine Hogan (James), Elizabeth Feindel (Darren), Linnae Bustin (Don) and Rowan Olmstead (Kim). She is also survived by her beloved sister Evelyn Mockler (Donnie).

Also grieving are 12 grandchildren: Philip John Pineo, Alexandra Lippman, Helen Hogan, Emily Hogan, Robyn Davidson, Nicholas Davidson, Eric Olmstead, Ethan Bustin, Ciaran Olmstead, Ailish Olmstead, Riona Olmstead and Anya Olmstead. She was also very proud to be a great grandmother to Isabella Pineo, Evan Pineo, Owen Pineo, Patrick Cheong and Cameron Cheong.

She also had a special place for her nieces and nephews: Kirk and Karen Howard and Thomas and Michael Mockler.

A very special thanks to Bella & Lav.

We would like to express our undying gratitude to all the beautiful people at URVH who showed her infinite compassion and grace during her brief illness. To the staffs at the ER and up on 2 East goes our admiration, love and gratitude.
