The passing of Margaret Marie (Ewing) Demmings, widow of C Gerald (Jerry) Demmings, occurred peacefully in her 97 ^th year on February 12, 2015 at Carleton Manor, Woodstock, NB.

Marg, with her business partner, Clora Bonnell, owned and operated Estabrooks Drygoods for many years.  Marg and Jerry settled in Woodstock NB soon after they graduated from Acadia University. They   were active in many Community associations and were well known for love of family, good friends, good food and hospitality.

She is survived by her children, M Winifred DeLong (Gerald), CG Dwight, W Lorimer (Carolyn), 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, her sisters; Marion Garber, Betty Wright, brother; Amos Ewing, cousin; Audrey Patterson,  several nieces and nephews and special friend, Sharon Kitchen.

In addition to her husband, Jerry, Marg was predeceased by grandchildren, Brian DeLong and Jane Demmings.

The family expresses gratitude to the staff of the Women's Institute Home and Carleton Manor for their compassionate care of Marg during her time with them.

By request there was no visitation. A memorial service will held at The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11 AM with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating. Interment will be held in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
