Lorne Gilbert York, 86, of Lakeville, NB, went to be with his Lord on February 26, 2012 at Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB, Lorne was born in Waterville, NB on September 9, 1925, son of the late Ralph and Hazel (McLean) York. Lorne leaves to mourn his wife, Norma, Lakeville, NB, sons; Weldon (Veronica), Branford, ON, Eldon, Bristol, NB, Ivan, Woodstock, NB, Paul, Bloomfield, NB, David (Lynn), Waterville, NB, Steven (Cindy), Moncton, NB, daughters; Carolyn Ogden (Bennie), Oakland, NB, Gaynell Simmons, Detroit, Michigan, Marjorie Hamilton (Brian), Woodstock, NB, Annabelle Tompkins (Blair), Jacksonville, NB, Marilyn Johnston (Richard), Beaconsfield, NB, stepchildren; Valerie Price (John), Saint John, NB, Romaine McGrath (Margaret), Knoxford, NB, Rayma O'Donnell (Chuck), Fredericton, NB, Janice Moffitt (Andy), Harvey, NB, Nancy Robinson (John), Harvey, NB,  daughter in law, Kathy McGrath, Montreal, QE, thirty seven grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren, thirteen step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, Uncle Harry McLean (Vivian) of Waterville, NB, brothers; Clarence (Audrey), Petitcodiac, NB, Austin (Evelyn), Cambridge, ON, Arthur (Betty), Kitchener, ON, nephews, nieces and cousins. Besides his parents, Lorne was predeceased by his first wife, Stella, daughter, Joyce Montgomery, brother, Harvey (Rhona), sister, Juanita Foster (Murray), daughter in law, Barb York, stepson, Robert McGrath. Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Wednesday, February 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1 from The Knoxford Praying Band Church, Knoxford, NB, at 2 PM with Rev. Andrew DeRier officiating. Interment will be in the Brookville Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Brookville Cemetery.
