Lloyd Phillip
Robinson
March 17, 1948 – August 22, 2024
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the family announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Lloyd Phillip Robinson. Born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, he grew up in Avondale, surrounded by the Kirkland's (grandmother, Mary (Scott), and Colin (grandfather), and Cousin Johnny). He also spent many happy hours at the neighbours Drakes (Gail Lawrence). He passed peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, N.B. on August 22, 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne (Allen), daughters MaryAnne Doherty (Dan), Trudy Robinson- LeBlanc (Roger), three grandsons, Patrick Doherty (Lexis), Matthew Doherty (Claire), Liam LeBlanc, grand daughter Marwyn LeBlanc and five great grandchildren, Lou, Jet, Tucker, Atley, and Axel.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Hilton and Jean (Kirkland) Robinson .
He was a man of hard work, never stopping to rest or waste time. His working life included co-ownership of Cluff's Men's Clothing shop for almost forty years (from 1967), working in maintenance for Jolly Farmer after the shop closed, and finally as a Commissionaire. And to top it off he also owned and worked a small Christmas Tree farm and sold Robinson's Christmas Trees from the family home. This was his "hobby" and he worked the trees right up until the end of his life. He was also president of the Y's Men's Club in the early 70's and a Mason for the past 20 years. All these activities allowed him to meet and enjoy the public and involved much conversation and story telling.
Lloyd was also a man of the earth, with a passion for the outdoors and all the activities and joys that it offered. This he shared with his family, grand children and long-time friends. Perhaps he was happiest when he was with his "hunting buddies" at the "Allandale Hilton". He always enjoyed a good drink of rum or beer and a big piece of homemade apple pie. It was nothing to find him out on his tractor working the land, or in his workshop creating another wood project, or just sitting in the shop spending the time in conversation with friends. And then there was the RV'ing! His life was good and we will miss him desperately.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the medical staff at the Upper River Valley Hospital for their care and compassion in his final days.
Visitation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home on Wednesday August 28th from 2 to 3PM, service will follow in the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 3PM, interment will be in the Kirk Cemetery.
If so desired, donations to the Kirk Cemetery or A charity of the Donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
