Linwood Beverly
Kennedy
August 10, 1950 – August 19, 2023
It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linwood Beverly Kennedy on August 19th, 2023, at his home in Richmond Corner at the age of 73.
Linwood was born on August 10th, 1950, at Woodstock, NB, to the late Hazen and Gwen (Rees) Kennedy. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Donna (Speer) and children, Peter (Debbie) and Krista (Dwight Schriver) as well as three grandchildren that meant the world to him, Logan and Seth Kennedy and Brooke Schriver. He is also survived by his sisters: Marilyn (Perley) Dykeman, Shirley (Wayne) Britton, Joanne Green and Jocelyn (Blake) Whiteway; and his brothers: Lawrence (Doris) Kennedy, Douglas (Sherry) Kennedy and Stephen (Lesa) Kennedy. He also leaves behind sister-in-law Roberta (Richard) Flewelling and brothers-in-law John (Barb) Speer, John Byrne, James Cluff and many nieces, nephews and special family friends.
Linwood was predeceased by his parents Gwen and Hazen, in-laws Glenna (Porter) and John Speer Sr., sisters-in-law Shirley Cluff and Mae Byrne, and special cousins Noreen and Eugene Kennedy.
Linwood was a hard worker who spent his life driving truck and working in the woods. Until the very end he was active in the day-to-day operations of the family business. He was an avid reader and considered a day watching or playing golf a day well spent. He and Donna also enjoyed camping in Grand Falls for many years. Above all else, he enjoyed having his family and friends around him.
The family would like to thank Extra Mural Program for their superior care and support. They would also like to thank the many family and friends who have been so kind and caring.
A visitation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 22nd from 4 to 8pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd at 3pm from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at the McKenzie Corner Cemetery following the service. A reception will follow at the Richmond Corner Rec Centre.
If so desired, donations can be made to the McKenzie Corner Cemetery Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
