Reminder of visitation on Sunday February 15, 2026 from 2 to 5PM at Carleton Funeral Home

Linda Ann Ward (née Rollins) passed away after a short battle with cancer on the evening of January 27, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital. She was 74 years of age. Our ''Ama'' was known for her outgoing, kind and caring personality - as well as her party mix, Christmas dip and pineapple cheesecake! You could often find Ama hitting the open highway to Montreal or PEI to be with her close friends and family. She was loved by all and had her supportive husband of 53 years, Ron by her side until the end.

Lin's long career as a devoted nurse was her true calling. She prided herself on her work and staying in touch with her nursing friends in Toronto and surrounding areas. Working for Dr. Bill Goodine for 37 years, she loved her job, her patients and most importantly, her very special colleague Pam.

She leaves behind her children and their partners whom she loved dearly - Chris & Jill Ward, Heather & Justin DeLong, Lianne Ward & Regan Douglas. Ama leaves behind five of the most spectacular grandchildren - Cale & Ryen DeLong, Grayson, Silas & Nella Ward. She always encouraged her children and grandchildren to adventure, explore and live their best lives - even if that meant seeing them less frequently.

She was a selfless woman - anyone who knew her, sang beside her, or was a patient of hers always felt her genuine kindness and love. She is predeceased by her parents Gwendlyn and James (Borden) Rollins, brother Douglas and sister-in-law Joanne. She is survived by her brother Don and sister-in-law Jill and by the entire Ward family.

We will love and miss our Ama forever and always. The dish towel has now been retired.

A visitation will be held for local friends and acquaintances on February 15th, 2026, from 2-5pm at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB. For family and close friends, a celebration of life and burial will take place in Saint-Hippolyte, QC during Summer 2026.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Nurses Foundation.
