It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Lester Charles Grant, age 85 of Canterbury NB on Monday May 12, 2025, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Lester was born on May 25,1939 in Woodstock NB to the late Donald and Mary (McCracken) Grant.

Lester is survived by his wife Patricia (Keilty) Grant, his 7 children, Theresa (Dusty) Buckingham, Veronica Shannon, Pam (Jerry) Grant, Angela (Shayne) Bradley, Rocky (Kelley) Grant, Melissa Farrell, Tabatha (Richard) Patterson, 19 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great, Great Grandchild, Sister Sherry (Allison) Smith, brother Cyril (Miriam) Grant, sister-in-law Geraldine Grant and sister- in- law Brenda Grant, several Nieces and Nephews.

Besides his parents, Lester was predeceased by a daughter Lana Mabel Grant, brothers Ralph and Donald Grant, sister-in-law Freda Grant.

Lester worked in the woods, worked at a lumber mill as a grader and then at the Nackawic Mill as an oiler for 30 years. He worked at his own woodlot after retirement until he was 81 years old. His hobbies were fishing and hunting, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, mowing his lawn and horseshoes, which he was Maritime Champion several times over. He loved spending time with the kids hunting and fishing.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the SJRH Oncology Unit, URVH Oncology Unit, Dr Kelly and Extra-Mural nurses for all their care and kindness.

In keeping with Lester's wishes, there will not be a public visitation or funeral service. A private family committal will be held at a later date.

If so desired, donations can be made to St Thomas Cemetery fund or Donor's choice in his memory.
