The peaceful passing of Lawrence Earl Cheney, of Jacksonville, formerly of Lindsay, husband of Hattie (Grant) Cheney, occurred at his home with his family at his side, on September 7, 2010. He was born at Lindsay NB, on June 16, 1932 to the late Earl and Ruth (Carpenter) Cheney. Lawrence is survived by; his loving wife of 50 years, Hattie; one daughter Angela Saunders (Charlie) of Florenceville, NB; two sons Guy(Darla) Cheney of Bedell, and Brian(Bonnie) Cheney of Simonds; ten grandchildren, Aaron(Brittany), Heidi Bubar (Matthew), Marci, Kyli and Jamin Cheney, Adam and Ashley Saunders, Jordan, Jennifer and Jonathan Cheney; one sister Arletta (Ron Currie) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held from Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Rd, Jacksonville, on Wednesday September 8, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9. A funeral service will be held from Lindsay Baptist Church on Thursday September 9, 2010 at 2:00 pm.. Pastor Stephen Hoyt will officiate and interment will be in the Lindsay Cemetery.
