Obituary

Juanita Ruth (Wilkinson) Long, 89 of Woodstock NB passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock NB, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in Mount Pleasant NB on June 30 1929, daughter of the late Wellington and Mildred (Drake) Tompkins.

Ruth is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Joan (Howard) Pratt, Woodstock NB, Connie (Keith) Ford, Cornwall, PEI, Randy (Cathy) Wilkinson, Woodstock NB, Three Step-Children, Roger (Ann) Long, Coldbrook NS, Rodney (Gaynell) Long, Amherst NS, Myrna (Jay) Verge, Cambridge NS, Fourteen Grandchildren: John Pratt, Heather (Kevin) Bowater, Janine Pratt, Crystal Ford, Calvin Ford, Scott (Cheryl) Long, Christa (Scott) MacDonald, Rose (Chad) Clarke, Peter (Amy) Long, Graham (Jackie) Long, Cara Dawn (Corey) Pierce, Allison (Evan) Collins, Denise (Shayne) Conrad, Tracey (David) Mandanice, Twenty Great Grandchildren: Jenna & Dane Bowater; London & Tennessee Ford, Rosslyn Long, Justin, Alex & Calan MacDonald, Mairi & Ella Long, Abigail, Maria & Benjamin Long, Brooklynn & Layla Pierce, Analise, Owen & Joel Collins, Wren & Otto Conrad.

Ruth is survived by her three brothers: Guy (Betsy) Tompkins, Mount Pleasant, NB, Vernet Tompkins, Kelowna, BC, Bruce Tompkins, Mount Pleasant, NB, two sisters Mary (Clair) Underhill, Rosedale NB, Lucy Pearl as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and sister in law Hilda (Junior) Whynot.

Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her first husband; Alton Wilkinson & her second husband; Lewis Long; brother, Kenneth Tompkins, sisters Lucy Tompkins, Sherrie Tompkins.

Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 5 PM to 8 PM and on Wednesday 10AM to 11AM.  Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 11 AM from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be held in the Lindsay Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group or to the Lindsay Cemetery Fund.
