Joseph Melville
Woods
September 19, 1947 – February 3, 2024
It is with broken hearts and much sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Melville Woods of Lower Woodstock on Saturday February 3, 2024, at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 76.
Joe was born in Guelph ON. September 19th, 1947, to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Grasley) Woods.
He is survived by his loving wife Marlene Hassard, Daughter Emmalee (Jamie) Glover, stepdaughters, Montana (Christopher) Angelidias, Camillia (Patrick Lawrence) Cleaveley, Stepson Travis (Nichole) Cleaveley, Grandchildren, Connor, Georgia, Mitchell, Tafari, Westlyn, Everly, Amaya, Isabella, Elysia, Caliegh, and Sophia. Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by a grand Daughter Elena.
Sister Donnalee Sagan, Brother George (Gloria) Woods.
Joe enjoyed a very close relationship with is numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
When asked what Joe's occupation was so many things came to my mind; youngest licensed mechanic in the province, businessman, truck driver, bus driver, car salesman, husband, brother, uncle and son but Joes role as a father and grandfather were the most important jobs he had. The one thing that really stood out to me was Dreamweaver. Joey was a champion of ideas, the champion of hopes and dreams for anybody who was brave enough to have them. His loyalty and easy-going demeanor, laced with a healthy dose of barroom humor was the perfect recipe for adventure and life time friendships. He was everybody's friend. He always found the good in people. His love for life and sense of adventure cultivated so many relationships at the racetrack with his race family, in any place of business where he worked and of course always at home with the ones that he loved.
You are right Joe, we have a gorgeous love and know that it will carry me through this storm. You have cleared turn 4 baby, just send her.
It was always Joes wish that in leu of a formal service, anyone wishing to honor his memory do so with family and friends sharing your favorite Joe Woods anecdote...
.
If so desired, donations in Joe's memory can be made to local animal shelter.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Carleton Funeral home and Crematorium, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB.
