John Albert
Gray
June 8, 1952 – February 23, 2026
Millville Legion
1:00 - 4:30 pm
A Celebration of life will be held at the Legion in Millville.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Albert Gray who was born on June 8, 1952. He passed peacefully on February 23, 2026 at the Upper River Valley Hospital with his wife Sheila at his side.
We won't be humbled with hearing "get you going" or "straighten you out", two of John's favorite sayings.
Many of us wonder how he was able to charm Sheila into marriage, one that lasted 18 years. After being a confirmed bachelor till the age of 55 he could turn the charm on when he wanted to and he was good at it!
John was a complicated man. I am not sure anyone really got to know him. If he liked you, you knew it. When he came to visit you and you had a dog, well you would always wonder who the visit was for! Guaranteed it was a visit for the dog. His favorite dog was Ike and Ike was going to straighten Sheila out.
John was a pipefitter by trade and worked in many locations through the years. His favorite love was for his tractor, four wheeling with Henry, Ram trucks and good conversations with his friends. He could tell a great story but you had to be aware that only some of it was the truth.
John leaves behind his wife Sheila Gray (Pike) and her daughters Christa LaKing (Nick), Tammy Lawrence (Adam), as well as Grandchildren, his sister Jean Frigault (Yves) and many nieces and Nephews.
He was predeceased by Mom Betty and Father Fred, Brothers Alan and Henry as well as Sister Rose Mary, Infant Sister Margaret Ann.
A special thanks to Dr. Chandra, Dr. Stone and Extra Mural and staff of the Upper River Valley Hospital for the compassionate care of John.
If so, desired donations can be made to the Linton Corner Cemetery in Johns name.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Legion in Millville from 1-4:30 PM on May 26, 2026, sadly with his Sister Rose Mary who also passed in November.
A private family Committal will be held at a later date.
