John Webber Acheson

John received his final wish as he was granted the time remaining on Earth to tidy up the loose ends of life. He desired to remain in his home to be cared for by family and not hospitalized for his precious time remaining.

John was granted one of life's most valuable gifts. A gift that holds no monetary value. Time was given to John which he used wisely in his remaining days on Earth. Time to tidy up the loose ends of life.

Born on December 21, 1957, in St. Stephen, NB, John Webber Acheson was the son of Harry Bertram and Elva Joy (Chapman) Acheson. Taught all things related to gardening, they shaped his future fondness to toil in the soil which John lovingly passed on to his family.

John was a faithful husband to Beth (Wilson), a loving father to Alex (Holly), Jessica, Jennifer (Keith), and Heidi. John's title he was most proud of was Grampie. He had 8 very special grandchildren. He loved them dearly and gave a piece of his heart to each one in very uniquely personal ways. Hudson (Kayla), Logan (Bria), Rory, Dallas, Corbin, Madilyn, Ryker and youngest, precious Briar.

His family was his greatest treasure. He immensely loved every moment imparting his wisdom and gifts upon them.

John was a dear brother, uncle and friend whose generosity and kind nature enriched the lives of many.

Born into a large family of 10 siblings, 5 brothers and 5 sisters, John was perfectly in the middle of the birth order. I'm sure they each have endless stories they could tell as they fondly remember their brother.

Throughout his decades of career, John was a dispatcher working for many large trucking companies. Through his strong work ethic and his dedication to the companies he worked for, this later developed into the title of Operations Manager, where he earned the respect of his fellow colleagues.

John was forever willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was very well known for his extensive gardens. Those who knew him well remember his kind heart, giving nature and wise counsel.

He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Elva. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, extended family members and dearest friends who will miss him greatly.

A visitation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB on Sunday September 13, 2026, from 5-8pm.

 Funeral service will be held Monday, Sept 14,2026 at 2pm, with Pastor Michael Horsman and Pastor Jeff Jones officiating.

A private family grave side interment will take place at the Wilmot Cemetery,

Light refreshments will follow at the Waterville Hall for all those who would like to gather and offer their fond memories of John and pay respect to the family.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group or The Wilmot Cemetery.
