James Wilbur
Martin
August 29, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jimmy "Papa" Martin on August 29 th , 2019. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Rayma (Crawford), daughter, Holly (Steven), daughter Shelley (Jamie), son Cory (Kim), son Jamie, and step-sons Tony and Kerry. Papa also leaves behind his 16 beautiful grandchildren: Drew, Bree, Cooper, Charley, Quinn, Brady, Wyatt, Makai, Mateya, Malix, Maddox, Joshua, Jacob, Chloe, Megan and Keisha, as well as two great-grandchildren, Izabella & RJ. Jimmy is also survived by all seven of his siblings: Glenna (Steven), Faye (Vi), John (Mitzi), Janet (Gerald), Joyce (Jim), Peter (Linda), Glenn (Kathy) and his loving mother, Margaret (Peggy) Martin, of Woodstock, NB, as well as two foster brothers Chris Bartley and James Tucker, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Lindor. He was predeceased by his father, Glenn Ervine. Jimmy was a loving son, father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
Jimmy enjoyed his seasonal work with the D.O.T crew, snow plowing in the winter, and the odd construction project. He loved cooking, hunting, fishing, playing cards & poker, relaxing at the camper, watching sports on TV, but above all, he loved spending time with his grandkids and attending all of their events and games. He was, undoubtedly, their Papa. Jimmy was known to many, and he loved to talk and tell jokes. He was always teasing and making fun, but brought smiles to everyone around him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to whomever was in need.
A special thank you to Dr. Chatur & the emergency staff at URVH, as well as the trauma team at the Saint John Hospital.
A "Celebration of Life & Memories" will be held on Monday, September 2 nd , at 2:00PM, at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Rd in Jacksonville, for all family and friends. A reception will follow at the Best Western in Woodstock.
For those who wish, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Dunroamin' Stray & Rescue.
