James Alison
Hawkes
May 4, 1956 – December 11, 2022
It is with much sadness that we announce the death of James Allison Hawkes, of Woodstock on Sunday December 11 at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 66.
James was born in Woodstock on May 4, 1956, to the late Kenneth Hawkes and Winona (Graham) Hawkes.
James is survived by his mother, sisters Debbie Turner (David), Lisa McCutcheon (Joe) and brother Steven (Verna) Hawkes, as well as nephews and nieces and cousins.
James was predeceased by his father, sisters Kathy Thomas, Joanne Grant and brother Michael Hawkes.
James worked for many years at Karnes Bakery in Woodstock, then on to UPS in Moncton and more recently with Trails New Brunswick Assoicaition.
James was a devoted and loving son, brother, uncle and friend. James had a passion and a huge heart when it came to all animals and always looked out for them. James also had a rich knowledge and interest of the history of Fosterville, North Lake and Forest City. James enjoyed visiting East Grand Lake and staying in their cottages from time to time. We will miss his great sense of humor, his huge heart and friendship to all who had the pleasure to have known him.
Keeping with James's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A private family service will be held with interment in the spring at Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
