It is with much sadness and relief that we announce the death of James Ernest Dickinson of Woodstock on Saturday February 22, 2025, at Carleton Manor at the age of 88 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's took your memories but it didn't take your love for family, your love of music or your kindness that you continued to show to the very end.

James was born in South Hampton NB on April 19, 1936, to the Late Roy and Clara (Patterson) Dickinson.

He is survived by his children, Ruth (Reid) Hargest, Greg (Julie) Dickinson, Sheri (Kirk) Giberson, Aaron (Krista) Young, Eric (Doreen) Friesen, his grandchildren, David (Stephanie), Alyson (Greg), Cole (Nicole), Brody (Jen), Chloe, Anna, Quinn, Payton, Larissa (Mark), Isaiah, Jordan (Robyn), Tyson, great grandchildren, Hailie, Brayden, Andrew, Lilly, William and Levi, His beloved twin sister Joan Sabean, sister in laws, Irene Dickinson, Terri Dickinson, Susan Dickinson and also the mother of his children, Ruth, Greg & Sheri, Marilyn Pratt, Several Nieces and Nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Roy Dickinson, Fred Dickinson, Edward Dickinson and Hugh Dickinson.

Visitation will be held on Monday February 24, at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville from 12noon to 2PM.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 2PM from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be held in the spring at the Lower Meductic Cemetery.

If so desired, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Society or Carleton County Animal Shelter in Jim's memory.

A reception will follow the service at Ayr Motor Center in Sam's Room.
