Obituary

Jack J. Allain, 81, of Woodstock, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2026.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra (Gallagher), with whom he recently celebrated 59 years of marriage. He is also lovingly remembered by his children: Kimberley of Bangor, Maine; Michael of Grande Prairie, Alberta; and Kelly of Woodstock, New Brunswick. He will be dearly missed by his cherished granddaughter, Marnie Allain of Bangor, Maine, his siblings, Lewis, Shirley, Barbara, Eric, and Leila, several Nieces and Nephews.

Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his siblings, Mona, Lee, Yvonne, Marie, Anthony.

Born in Newcastle (Miramichi), New Brunswick on November 20, 1944. Jack moved to Woodstock in his late teens. He met and married Sandra (Gallagher) on February 25, 1967. As a young man, Jack attended trade school and became a licensed plumber and pipefitter. His early career took him to many parts of Canada, often away from his family, but he spoke fondly of the places he worked and the country's natural beauty. In 1993, Jack began working with the local school district, where he built many lasting friendships across the schools and offices he served. He enjoyed his work and remained there until his retirement in 2009.

Jack could often be found walking the roads of Richmond Corner. Known for his discipline, he walked twice daily, regardless of the weather. In his later years, he especially enjoyed these walks alongside his dog, Harley.

In keeping with Jack's wishes, there will be no funeral or visiting hours.

If so desired donations can be made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group in Jack's memory.
