Irvine Wheelan

Irvine Wheelan passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Irvine was born on June 4th, 1954, in Johnstone, Scotland.

Irvine is survived by his wife Janet and sons Nicholas (Hannah), Benjamin (Cathryn) and grandchildren Rex, Ivy and Jett. Sister Sandra (Robert), brothers John (Mary, Jim (Val), Colin (Sandra, Brian (Shelley), Billy (Sarah), Stuart (Stephanie), Barry (Cathy), Derrick (Deanna) Mark (Char), and many nieces and nephews.

Irvine is predeceased by his parents James and Williamina Wheelan.

Irvine joined Woodstock Army Reserves and served overseas as a peacekeeper. Upon returning he joined the Woodstock Police from May 1978 until January 2007.

Irvine was a member of ANAVETS and a well-loved member of the Woodstock Ukelele group.

A visitation will be held on Friday October 16, 2026, at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville from 4 to 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Bloomfield United Cemetery or to the ANAVETS in Irvine’s memory.
