Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Hilda Louise Stairs, 89 of Woodstock NB at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Fridau August 13, 2021.

Hilda was born September 19, 1931 to the late Wardlow and Elva (Killcollins) Carson in Hawkshaw NB. She is survived by her husband Dalton Stairs, daughter Valerie (Sue Pihlainen) and son Alex, Also survived by grandchildren, Amanda Reid, Emma McLaughlin and Turner McLaughlin. Hilda is also survived by one brother Roy Carson of Grafton NB.

Besides her parents, Hilda was predeceased by a daughter Pamela, brothers, Vaughn, Paul, Floyd, Donald, Glen and Ralph Carson.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 from 5-7 pm at The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville NB. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm from Carleton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Woodcock officiating. Interment will be held in the Hartfield cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the Extra Mural Team for their care and support over these last several months, as well as the friendship and love of the friends and neighbours past and present of 110 Burtt Street. A special thank you to Eleanore Ritchie who has been our rock…
