Gertrude Avis
Stoddard
April 9, 1938 – April 3, 2025
With great sadness we announce the death of our precious Mother, Gertrude Avis Stoddard.
Mom was born on April 9th, 1938, in Bath, New Brunswick. She was the youngest and last surviving child of her parents Edward and Lily White of Divide, New Brunswick.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Allison Glen Stoddard as well as 6 brothers: Henry, Austin, Fred, Clarence, Sandy and John and 5 sisters: Edna, Georgina, Nellie, Anna and Isabel.
She leaves behind 3 children: Kenneth (Willa), Heather (Don) and Holly (Keith) as well as 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mom was a beautiful Christian lady and taught us all to love Jesus. She was an amazing mother and friend.
Mom was dearly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved company and was an excellent cook and always had time for a cup of tea and a cookie.
Mom loved music and jamborees. She loved to sing.
Mom worked for the Red Cross as a homemaker for 17 years. She enjoyed her work very much.
There will be a visitation at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville on Saturday, April 5th from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. with the funeral directly following at 2:00 p.m. with Revered Everett Munn officiating. Internment will be in the Bigger Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
We would like to thank the staff of the Riverview Manor for their excellent care of our mom. Also, Dr Bruce Lockhart for his compassion and kindness.
Donations to the Riverview Manor or Bannon Bible Camp would be appreciated.
