Gertrude Rebecca Johnston, 80, of Beardsley Road, Lower Woodstock, NB, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at her residence. Gertrude was born in Woodstock, NB, on April 14, 1931, daughter of the late Ruben and Calla (Currie) Barnes.

Gertrude is survived by her daughters; Diane Schriver, Grafton, NB, Elaine Brown, Woodstock, NB, Corrine McCarty (Paul), New Market, ON, sons; Gary (Susan), Richmond Corner, NB, Randy (Angie), Grafton, NB, Paul, Beardsley Road, NB, 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren. Gertrude was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, brothers, George, Henry, Russell, Leo, and a sister, Edith.

Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville, NB on Thursday, June 23 from 2 to 4 only. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 24 at 2 PM from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel with Capt. Mae Wales officiating. Interment will be in the Norton Dale Cemetery.
